Help us think big about creative space in aurora!

Thanks so much for coming out to the Aurora Artspace Survey Launch Party last week!

If you haven't already, take this 5 min survey to tell us what YOU want in affordable creative live/work housing, studio and artistic space.

This survey critical in advancing plans to bring new creative space to Aurora.

We want to develop a place where artists, creatives, makers, culture bearers, and arts educators can have affordable space in which to live, create, practice and share.

But this can only happen if we have enough input! Please share with your friends, spread the word on social media, and take the survey.

Aurora launching survey to get input on affordable creative space

AURORA, Colo. – The Aurora Cultural Arts District and the city of Aurora are throwing a party this month to kick off a survey asking the metro area’s creative community what they want in affordable live/work housing, studio and other creative work spaces.

The Aurora Artspace Survey Launch Party is happening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at The People’s Building, 9995 E. Colfax Ave., with a presentation from Artspace starting at 7 p.m.

The event will include food, drinks, music from Nueva Escuela de Musica, and anyone who takes the survey on site will be entered into a drawing for a prize basket. An RSVP is requested at AuroraArtspaceSurveyLaunch.EventBrite.com.

The Aurora Cultural Arts District and the city of Aurora are teaming up with Artspace, the nation’s leading nonprofit arts developer, to conduct the survey, which will open April 30 at AuroraCreativeSpaceSurvey.org. The survey, which is supported by the Gates Family Foundation, will close June 11.

This is the second phase of an effort started in 2017 related to artist live/work space in Aurora.

Artspace visited the city that year and conducted a preliminary feasibility study involving tours, focus groups and meetings with the community to gather information about the need for and interest in an artist live/work project.
